So enjoyed this memoir-- brought back golden memories of my own junior year abroad. JYA is an amazing opportunity for anyone. It will change your life in ways you can't imagine...Fun read- a love story in so many ways. --a reader in Mauritania

Don't let this book fool you; while you may believe it is just a JYA User's Guide, it is that, and so much more. Firstly, it's a handy travel guide for anyone new to a country (especially when travelling on a budget). Secondly, it's loaded with wonderful tips peppered throughout a wonderful story filled with hilarious, enlightening, honest and BRAVE experiences of a young woman stepping WAY outside her comfort zone while spending a year abroad...with all of the highs and lows that come with it. It was quite educational, too! Love it..and you will, too.  --a reader in MA

I really enjoyed reading this book. It's a great book for anyone contemplating doing a semester abroad...It's fun, informative and makes you want to travel.

Fun, lighthearted read. Good information if you're planning a trip abroad, or anywhere for that matter. And plenty of nostalgia if you've been out of school for a while. Thoroughly enjoyed. --a reader in CA
If you're planning on traveling abroad and want to be prepared, this is the book for you! Don't leave home without it. --a reader in MA

A delightful step back to 1986 as a young woman embarks on her journey to spend her junior year abroad. This book is full of helpful suggestions to make the transition easier for anyone contemplating a similar undertaking. --a reader in MA
