About me

And, what I do between vacations

I believe that JYA changes lives. I'm passionate about international travel and study, and I've been fortunate enough to experience first-hand the transformative effects that travel and the junior year abroad journey can have on a person's life. If I were independently wealthy, I'd endow a scholarship fund that would make it possible for every single college student in the U.S. to spend junior year abroad - that's how important I think the JYA experience is.

I love going way off the beaten path. The less touristy the place, the more likely it is that you'll find me there. I love meeting the locals, learning new languages, getting lost, and having adventures. My trusty travel journal and favorite pen are always within reach.

Nothing makes me happier than traveling. In addition to the United Kingdom, I've visited Ireland, France, Germany, Andorra, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Croatia, French Polynesia, and Greece. A trip to Turkey is in the works for later this summer, and I'm not gonna lie: my Turkish is now at toddler-level (you have to start somewhere).

Other stuff I like to do. When I'm not on a trip or thinking about my next one, I like to read, knit, write, scrapbook, work out at the gym, and go trail running (but not all at the same time).
